  Ce site rassemble des photographies de grande valeur et d'une qualité exceptionnelle :

  • Les photographies ont été prises par Luc Dessault, photographe professionnel dans l'Algérie d'avant 62.

  • Nous sommes en possession de tous les négatifs.

  • Un bon nombre de ces négatifs sont des plaques de verre au format 9x12, 10x15 ou 13x18.

  Mais les photos présentées sur ce site ont, dans certains cas, été réduites jusqu'au dixième du scan d'origine, scan effectué à une résolution de 600 à 1200 ppi. C'est pourquoi, afin de vous permettre de vous rendre compte de l'extrême finesse des détails et des possibilités de tirages en grand format, nous présentons ci-dessous :

  • une animation qui fait ressortir des parties d'une photo des cérémonies du Centenaire de l'Algérie

  • et une série de photos sur laquelle il vous suffit de passer votre curseur pour voir apparaître un détail de celle-ci à taille réelle.

  This site gathers photographs of an exceptional value and quality :

  • Photographs were taken by Luc Dessault, professional photographer in the pre-62 Algeria.

  • We are in possession of all negatives.

  • A high number of them are large size photographic plates (9x12, 10x15 or 13x18).

  But thumbnails presented on this site, even if rather large, have been reduced down to one tenth of their original scan size, scan performed at a 600 to 1200 ppi resolution. This is why, in order for you to visualise the extreme sharpness of details, sharpness that allows large scale printings, we present below :

  • an animated flash that highlights parts of a photography taken during the centenary of Algeria

  • and a series of pictures on which you just need to go over with your mouse to reveal a real-size detail.
